San Francisco Public Library welcomes youth volunteers who are 13-17 years old.

Assist with ongoing library activities and tasks
Available Locations: The Mix at SFPL, Anza, Bayview, Chinatown, Excelsior, Glen Park, Golden Gate Valley, Ingleside, Marina, Merced, Mission, Noe Valley, North Beach, Ocean View, Ortega, Park, Parkside, Portola, Potrero, Presidio, Richmond, Sunset, Visitacion Valley, West Portal, Western Addition

Youth Engaged in Library Leadership (YELL) is a summer program designed for older teens, requiring a weekly commitment from early June to mid-August work collaboratively with the local Librarian and assist with STEM programs. Applications open March 1 until positions at all locations are filled.

Available Locations: Bayview, Bernal Heights, Chinatown, Excelsior, North Beach, Ortega, Parkside, Portola, Sunset, Visitacion Valley

CORE is a 10-week summer program where a cohort of teens will learn to work together through exploring The Mix experience.

Summer 2020 dates: June 8th - August 14th, 2020.

Teens 13-18 years old are encouraged to apply.

Help library patrons with their basic computer skills
FOG Readers is a new program provided by San Francisco Public Library to help struggling readers. Help an elementary school student with their reading skills through on-going tutoring sessions once a week at your local library. Tutors will be required to attend four 1.5 hour training sessions and commit to one semester of tutoring. Must be 15 years of age or older to volunteer.
